Meet Joe
Hey, I’m Joe—founder of All Things Nauti. I’ll admit it, I’ve always been a little salty. From fishing trips with my buddies, lifeguarding during the summers, sailing on my Sunfish sailboat to serving as a Merchant Marine Officer sailing the high seas, the ocean has always been my therapy, my playground, and my greatest teacher. I even married my wife of nearly 30 years on the beach—that is how much I love the water.
I have always liked nautical flags since the first time I saw them hanging from boats in marina’s. There was just something about the vibrant colors that spoke to me and I wanted to express their festive element through t-shirt designs. Nautical flags, which are also known as signal flags, can be used for visual communication at sea. Each flag represents a different letter of the alphabet and each flag has a specific meaning. For instance, the flag representing the letter “A” also means “Diver Down” when hung from a mast.
In fact, I got nautical flag tattoos spelling out my initials as a personal reminder of my years on the water and all the incredible adventures the seas have given me. Those tattoos turned into artwork around my house, and eventually sparked the whole idea behind All Things Nauti. Today, I’m sharing my passion by bringing you high-quality t-shirts with cool images and customizing shirts utilizing the nautical flag alphabet symbols to you for every day nautical wear and vacation apparel.
